TUDOR PLACE HISTORIC HOUSE AND GARDEN
Washington, District of Columbia
Architectural Conservation, Restoration, Exterior Paint, Windows, Wood Trim and Mouldings, Epoxy Consolidation, Paint Removal

During the replacement of the stucco at Tudor Place, we were called on to perform architectural conservation services on the facade's exterior wood trim and mouldings, window casings and Temple Portico, which had become rotted and damaged over the years due to weather exposure.  After all failed paint had been removed, rotted areas were conserved with epoxy consolidation.  Care was taken to inspect all flashing systems and gutters to insure that they were not allowing water to penetrate the walls or flow on to the trim boards.  Once the repairs and inspections were completed, all exposed wood surfaces were given a coat of oil based primer and two coats of acrylic latex paint.
