What started out as an ordinary painting contract ran into difficulties when aggressive paint stripping resulted in numerous fractures and damage to the ornately carved classical Greek cornice. We were asked to perform architectural conservation on the decorative wood freeze and its ornate carving.  We used epoxy consolidation to re-attach the broken design elements where necessary. After the broken elements were in place, we carefully removed only the failed paint without further damage to the carved decoration.
